In 2015 we commemorated the Anzac Centenary with Conflict and Compassion.

In this important year the Heritage Festival commemorated the beginning of the ANZAC Centenary by inviting communities across Victoria to share their stories of conflict and compassion through hosting talks, tours, exhibitions and events as part of the Festival in April and May.  From Bendigo Enlists to the B-24 Liberator, from Footscray’s War to Portland’s Memorial, Festival events in Victoria explored the human side of war, rebellion, sacrifice and endurance, and the extraordinary local stories of courage and compassion that come from the horror of conflict and strife.

Also in 2015 the National Trust partnered with the Victorian Goldfields Tourism Executive to present the inaugural Goldfields Heritage Month with more than 100 events taking place in this region during the Festival dates of 18 April to 26 May.
