Claire MacKinnon nee Adams was a famous silent movie star when she married Scobie, and came to live with him in Victoria. Their property Mooramong, in Skipton country Victoria, was redecorated by Claire into a fashionable country retreat, but it remained a working sheep farm. The couple loved entertaining their friends at their homestead, hosting weekend parties. They also shared a love of animals. Both of these enthusiasms were well documented in their home movie and photographic collections.
