2011 marked the rebirth of the National Trust Heritage Festival in Victoria and was made possible by funding provided by the Commonwealth Government. The From Steam to Surf theme recognised the importance of steam power in the nineteenth century, and the tangible and intangible significance of surfing in post-war Victoria.
In 2011 attendees were invited to take part in celebrating the National Trust Heritage Festival with special Heritage Trains run by Puffing Billy Railway, one of the finest preserved steam railways in the world. (Image courtesy of SLV)
