This exhibition celebrates the lived experiences of first custodians’ ancestors, and how they were interwoven with those of the Barwon Park Mansion. Thomas Austin was the original builder of the mansion., after his passing, he was survived by his wife, Elizabeth Austin and their children, who in their time were said to have fed many First Peoples as they passed through the mansion’s surrounding land.
Explore this exhibition which showcases some of our best first nations artists and their work and is something completely unique to the area.
Artists : Aunty Marlene Gilson OAM and her children Robert, Dr Deanne, Tammy and Barry, alongside her grandchildren, Blair, Indigo, Max, Arlo, Piper and Mia.
