Across two walk and talks explore 'Wayngurrla - To Make Good' exhibition with curator, Dr Deanne Gilson.
Wayngurrla – To Make Good pays homage to the reciprocal relationships between Wadawrruung kin kin bil and the owners of the property, the Austin family.
This exhibition celebrates the lived experiences of first custodians’ ancestors, and how they were interwoven with those of the Barwon Park Mansion. Thomas Austin was the original builder of the mansion, after his passing, he was survived by his wife, Elizabeth Austin and their children, who in their time were said to have fed many First Peoples as they passed through the mansion’s surrounding land.
Dr. Gibson will take the two groups throughout each of the rooms at Barwon Park talking about each of the works that we have on display in the exhibition.
Lasting about an hour, these two talks will give you a full behind the scenes exclusive into the exhibition.
