Terms and Conditions of Sale and Entry
The following terms and conditions govern the purchase, use, and admission for all properties and experiences managed by National Trust Australia (Victoria) (NTAV). By purchasing or using a ticket, you agree to abide by these terms.
Terms and Conditions of Sale
- Proof of Purchase and Admission
- This ticket serves as proof of purchase for to a NTAV property or experience and must be presented upon entry to the event. Failure to present a valid ticket may result in refusal of entry.
- Only the individual in possession of a valid ticket will be granted access to the event.
- Non-Transferability
- This ticket is issued to the specific individual or party named at the time of purchase and is non-transferable.
- Only one (1) individual per ticket purchase is valid for entry. Multiple admissions using a single ticket are prohibited.
- Ticket Duplication and Fraud Prevention
- Tickets must not be duplicated, resold, or used for fraudulent purposes. The creation of duplicate or counterfeit tickets for the purpose of gaining unauthorized entry is strictly prohibited.
- Non-Refundable Policy
- All ticket purchases are final and non-refundable, except as stated in these terms or in compliance with applicable Australian Consumer Law.
- Refusal of Entry
- The NTAV reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any individual at their discretion, including but not limited to situations involving disruptive behaviour, violation of property policies, or failure to comply with safety or legal requirements.
- National Trust Membership
- If you purchase a discounted member ticket, proof of valid National Trust Membership will be required at the time of admission.
- If purchasing online, the membership number must be entered during the checkout process to validate your discounted member ticket.
- Failure to provide either a valid membership number or proof of membership at the property may result in the denial of the discount, and the requirement to pay the full ticket price.
- Change of Ticket Dates or Times:
- You may change the date or time of your ticket for a NTAV property or experience through the manage booking portal, subject to availability.
- Changes can be made up to three days prior to the scheduled date of your visit, and you may select an alternative available time or date that suits your needs.
- Availability is subject to capacity and certain restrictions may apply for specific experiences.
- Price changes may apply with changes of date or time.
- Ticket Cancellations and Gift Card Credit:
- If you need to cancel your ticket, you can do so through the NTAV online ticketing portal.
- Upon cancellation, the value of the ticket can be converted into a gift card credit for NTAV that can be used for any future ticket or experience purchase through the website.
- The gift card will be valid for a specified period, and you can redeem it for tickets or experiences at any of our properties.
- Conditions on Cancellations and Changes:
- Cancellations or changes to tickets can be made up to three days prior to the scheduled visit date.
- If the request is submitted after three days prior or after the date of the scheduled experience, the ticket will no longer be eligible for cancellation or conversion into a gift card.
- For experiences such as dinners and events with catering requirements, then cancellations or changes to tickets can only be made up to 2 weeks prior to the scheduled experience or event date. If the request is submitted after 2 weeks prior to the experience date, the ticket will no longer be eligible for cancellation or conversion to a gift card.
- Gift Card Terms:
- Gift cards are non-refundable and can only be used for ticket or experience purchases on the NTAV website or at every NTAV property.
- Gift card balances are not redeemable for cash.
- The gift card will expire after 3 years from the date of issue, so we recommend using it at your earliest convenience.
- No Additional Fees:
- There are no additional fees associated with changing the time, date, or cancellation of your tickets when using the online portal – however changes in price for ticket date or time may incur additional fees.
- Goods and Services Tax (GST)
- All ticket prices are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST) where applicable, in accordance with Australian tax law.
- Liability Disclaimer
- The NTAV will not be liable for any loss, injury, or damage to persons or property during their visit to a NTAV property or experience, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law. By attending the property or experience, you assume all risks and liabilities associated with participation.
- Compliance with Property Rules
- All attendees must comply with any additional rules or regulations specified by the NTAV upon entry to the property or experience, including but not limited to health and safety protocols, venue-specific rules, and conduct expectations. Failure to comply may result in removal from the property or experience without refund.
- Force Majeure
- The NTAV will not be held liable for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations under these terms if such failure or delay is due to any cause beyond the reasonable control of the NTAV, including but not limited to natural disasters, weather impacts, governmental actions, or technical failures

Conditions of Entry
- Right of Admission
- The National Trust of Australia (Victoria) (NTAV) reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any person whose behaviour is deemed drunk, disorderly, offensive, unsafe, or unlawful.
- Patrons causing a disturbance, failing to comply with reasonable staff instructions, or posing a safety risk may be removed without refund.
- Unauthorised persons are prohibited from entering NTAV properties and any other area not accessible by the public.
- Supervision of Minors
- Persons under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times. Unsupervised minors may be refused entry or referred to authorities.
- The NTAV assumes no responsibility for the supervision, safety or welfare of any visitor, including minors. The NTAV reserve the right to refuse entry to, or to remove from, National Trust of Australia (Victoria) properties or to refer to the police any persons under the age of 12 who are without adult supervision.
- Teachers and group leaders assume responsibility for the safety, conduct and supervision of their groups while on NTAV premises, acting in loco parentis.
- Prohibited Items
- Patrons may not bring the following items onto National Trust properties:
- Illegal substances including controlled, dangerous or illicit drugs
- Incendiary devices (flares, fireworks and smoke bombs)
- Firearms and explosives
- Chemical, radioactive or biological substances
- Laser lights
- Alcohol
- Aerosol Cans
- Animals (other than Assistance Dogs)
- Bicycles, scooters, skateboards and rollerblades/ skates
- Professional cameras, audio recording devices, without management approval
- Chairs/ Stools, or oversized items will not be permitted into the venue
- Glass (including bottles) or cans, drink containers and plastic bottles above 750ml
- Unauthorised electrical or gas equipment
- Unauthorised advertising material or flyers
- Musical instruments
- Any other item that in the opinion of management could cause harm or public nuisance.
- Bags and personal items are subject to inspection. Patrons refusing inspections may be denied entry.
- Patrons may not bring the following items onto National Trust properties:
- Safety Requirements
- Footwear must be worn at all times to ensure safety. Patrons whose attire is deemed offensive or hazardous may be refused entry.
- Smoking
- Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is prohibited in all areas. Non-compliance may result in eviction and fines.
- Photography and Recording
- Photography and filming for non-commercial personal use are permitted. The use of drones is strictly prohibited.
- By entering, patrons consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded for National Trust marketing, promotional, or archival purposes. Patrons who do not wish to be photographed or recorded must notify staff upon arrival.
- Liability
- Patrons assume all risk of damage or loss, including personal injury or property damage. The NTAV is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.
- Facility and Event Changes
- Some facilities may be closed or altered for operational reasons. Event programming may also change without notice.
- Events may be delayed, rescheduled, or cancelled due to dangerous conditions, extreme weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. In these matters, please refer to the NTAV Ticketing Terms & Conditions.
- In the event of a cancellation or closure, the National Trust accepts no responsibility for travel, accommodation and any other associated costs.
- Heritage Property
- By entering this heritage property, visitors agree to respect and preserve its historical integrity. To ensure the protection of the site and its artifacts or collections, the following conditions apply:
- Handling and Preservation: All NTAV properties are important heritage sites. Visitors must not touch, pick up, lean on or remove any objects, furniture, or architectural feature. Many items are fragile and irreplaceable.
- Restricted Areas: Visitors must stay within designated public areas and follow all signs and directions given by NTAV staff. Access to restricted sections of the property is not permitted unless accompanied by an authorised guide or NTAV staff.
- Supervision of Children: Children must be supervised at all times to ensure compliance with all the NTAV Conditions of Entry to prevent accidental damage to the property, landscape or contents.
- Respect for the Site: Climbing on walls, sitting on collection furniture, or interfering with displays is strictly prohibited. Visitors are asked to move carefully and be mindful of their surroundings.
- Removal of Items: The removal of any object from the premises, including natural materials such as stones and plants is strictly forbidden.
- Commercial Bookings
- Groups of 10 or more are considered a commercial booking and must contact the National Trust Bookings Team to arrange entry.

Gift Card Terms & Conditions
- Validity
Gift Cards are valid for three (3) years from the date of purchase, as required under Victorian and Australian consumer law. The purchase date is utilised to calculate three years from that date to provide the expiry date. Gift cards not redeemed before they expire will be void and cannot be extended. - Redemption
Gift cards may be redeemed for eligible purchases at all National Trust Australia (Victoria) (NTAV) properties and online at www.nationaltrust.org.au. Redemption is subject to availability and standard Terms & Conditions of sale. - Use of Card
Gift cards can be used multiple times across multiple transactions until the full value has been redeemed. If a purchase exceeds the available balance, the difference must be paid using an alternative payment method. - Non-Transferable and Non-refundable
Gift cards are not refundable, cannot be exchanged for cash (in whole or in part), reloaded, or transferred to another person unless required by law. - No Change or Credit in Cash
No cash change will be given for purchases below the card’s balance. Any remaining balance will remain on the card until expiry and can be used for future purchases. - Digital Delivery and Responsibility
Gift cards are delivered electronically via email. It is the responsibility of the purchaser and/or recipient to ensure the email address provided is correct and that the gift card is stored securely. NTAV is not responsible for lost, deleted, misplaced, or inaccessible digital gift cards once delivered. Gift cards will not be reissued or refunded if lost or accessed by an unauthorised party. - Event Specific Use
Some gift cards or vouchers may be restricted to specific properties, events, or offers. These restrictions will be clearly stated at the time of purchase and cannot be altered later. - Cancelled Events
If an event or booking made using a gift card is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, customers may be offered a transfer, rescheduling or credit to another date, at NTAV’s discretion and in accordance with Australian Consumer Law. - Marketing Use Prohibited
Gift cards may not be used for marketing, promotional, or advertising purposes (including competitions) without prior written consent from the NTAV. - Misuse and Fraud
Unauthorised duplication, tampering, or misuse of gift cards is strictly prohibited. NTAV reserves the right to cancel any card suspected of fraud or breach of these terms. - Privacy
Personal information collected through gift card transactions will be handled in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) and the NTAV Privacy Policy. - GST Inclusive
All gift card values are inclusive of GST where applicable. - Acceptance of Terms
Use of a gift card constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions. NTAV may amend these terms from time to time, provided changes remain compliant with Australian Consumer Law.
