Fantastic Visions – Norman Lindsay Gallery, Springwood

Norman Lindsay's home in Springwood became an artistic centre for the creation of an arcadian vision.

Years 10-12 VISUAL ARTS

Lindsay was renowned for his virtuosity. He was an expert draughtsman, etcher, watercolourist, painter and model ship builder and his classical-inspired cement sculptures and fountains fill the landscape with his vision.

Students can

  • REFLECT on how the painting studio reveals the artist’s lifestyle and work practice.
  • LEARN how Lindsay and his wife Rose produced prints in the etching studio.
  • VIEW Lindsay’s major artwork in his home, which is now the gallery.
  • EXPLORE the exterior of the house, the sculpture garden and bushwalks which offer opportunities for photography, sketching and gathering material for process diaries and artworks.
