New plans for the Powerhouse Museum on display

Plans for the heritage revitalisation of the Ultimo Powerhouse Museum have now been released. See what's on the table and have your say.

The Powerhouse Museum in Ultimo.

Last year the Minns government committed to a ‘Heritage Revitalisation’ of the Ultimo Powerhouse Museum. These plans have now been put on public exhibition.

This follows the recommendation to the Minister by the Heritage Council of NSW to list the Powerhouse Museum Complex on the State Heritage Register, including the 1988 Wran Building and the Harwood Building (former Ultimo Tram Depot).

The National Trust (NSW) will be advocating for the sensitive adaptation of the existing heritage buildings and proper consideration of the outstanding museum collection.

We encourage you to make your own comment on the Development Application documents, which are on exhibition until 30 May.
