The 2016 Ballot for the Election of Directors at the National Trust Annual General Meeting resulted in non-metropolitan candidate, Mrs Elaine Lawson’s election as a Director.
Mrs Lawson is a Heritage and Curatorial Consultant whose links to the National Trust go back to the 1980s, when she was a member of the ACT Women’s Committee.
Her goal is to foster a closer relationship between the Trust and Government with the aim of protecting our cultural heritage both nationally and locally.
Mrs Lawson’s previous professional roles include: Senior Curator of Historic Places in the Cultural Facilities Corporation – ACT; Trustee of the Historic Houses and Official Establishments Trusts; and, a member of the National Management Committee of the Australian Garden History Society.
