Celebrate the festive season at historic Hopewood House, the spectacular setting for this year's Southern Highlands Branch Christmas party.
The National Trust (NSW) Southern Highlands Branch invites you to enjoy an afternoon of festive elegance with celebratory drinks and hors d’oeuvres hosted within the enchanting house and grounds of Bowral’s Hopewood House.
Established in 1884, Hopewood House was once home to pastoralist Ben Osborne and later to Lebbus Hordern, dubbed the “Jay Gatsby” of the Hordern family, who created the magnificent gardens still enjoyed today. From the 1940s to the 1970s, it operated as a children’s home to 86 “Hopewood Family” babies born out of wedlock from 1942 -1951. Now owned by renowned Australian artist Tim Storrier and his wife Janet, the estate features Tim’s sculptures throughout the gardens, which Janet restored, and her team lovingly maintain.
This exclusive event offers a rare opportunity to celebrate Christmas, heritage, and Australian art at one of the Southern Highlands’ grandest private estates.
Guests are invited to enjoy the beautifully maintained interiors, stroll through the historic gardens and experience Tim’s masterful paintings and sculptures – with access to his private studio and gallery.
Proudly hosted by the National Trust (NSW) Southern Highlands Branch.
All proceeds go toward the care of the National Trust (NSW) Southern Highlands properties including Harper’s Mansion, Golden Vale Homestead, and Retford Park.
