Immerse yourself in heritage and the beauty of spring in the Southern Highlands. Start with morning tea at Berrima Museum before setting off to inspect three charming houses and their glorious gardens.
This special Spring House & Garden Inspections tour will give you exclusive access to stunning properties and gardens in Berrima, a beautiful 1840s village with numerous listed cottages and important buildings.
Rendezvous at the amazing Berrima Museum. Here you’ll enjoy morning tea, hear about Berrima’s much-loved heritage and have time for a quick look through the museum.
After morning tea, we’ll be largely walking distance to our three chosen private properties.
Inspect two houses and their gardens before breaking for lunch in the village which has many cafes for you to choose from. Our last property will complete the day, wrapping up around 3pm.
Our three properties are lovely examples of what Berrima does best … they are each at least 150 years old, mostly beginning as tiny worker’s cottages, have been restructured internally to meet a practical need to live in the 21st Century, although this doesn’t always mean “glossy modern living”.
Our three houses will demonstrate the edges of this sort of discussion. Some of us will love the gleaming polished examples and others the commitment to maintaining original layouts and finishes on walls, floors and ceilings. Some owners may accept compromises such as heated towel rails or LED lighting. Others need to be surrounded by modernism, but each individual property is lovely for what it does … they all demonstrate our want to reflect on the past and do so whilst meeting our own needs and wishes for comfort… and still meet the budget.
Join us and immerse yourself in heritage and the beauty of spring in the Southern Highlands.
