Join Blue Mountains artist, Alex Snellgrove, for the launch of her new book, 'Blue' along with an accompanying exhibition of artworks from the book, at Everglades Gallery in March.
The images of ‘Blue’ were inspired by the wide views, waterfalls, sandstone cliffs, native wildlife and historic towns in the mountains. Alex celebrates the combination of the natural and man-made. Her book and artworks are a personal interpretation of the unique character of this UNESCO World Heritage site.
A variety of techniques were used to create those atmospheric images, including mono printing, linocut printing, stencils, collage, painting and drawing. Natural materials like dried plants and feathers were also incorporated.
All artworks are for sale, including ‘Blue’, and greeting cards. Proceeds support the work of the National Trust (NSW).
