In 2027, the National Trust (NSW) is delighted to once again collaborate with Museums of History NSW to present two expert-led Collections on Tour events.
What colours did people use in their homes in the past? We often think that historical home interiors were dull and dusty – was this the reality? This autumn, Museums of History NSW’s popular Collections on Tour series travels to two historic National Trust (NSW) properties.
Join us to discover the story of colour in the home in NSW and how attitudes towards living with colour are always changing.
Hosted in two unique National Trust locations, these expert-led illustrated presentations will draw on Museums of History NSW’s rich collections, including the Caroline Simpson Library Collection, State Archives Collection and museum collections.
An engaging Q&A session will follow each presentation and there will also be an opportunity for you to view original collection material such as colour charts, wallpaper, trade catalogues, architectural pattern books and other rare sources.
After, guests are invited to explore the historic surrounds and learn more about our special places.
