Call & Response is the culminating exhibition of the 2026 Artist in Residence at Brough House, Maitland. View these incredible works and hear from the artist, Jane Richens.

The inspiring work of artist and biodiversity farmer, Jane Richens, explores connections between the Grossmann House Collection, the property, the local environment, past and present.

Taking centre stage is a life-size recreation of an 1870 dress worn by the daughter of the original owner of Brough House, Mary Owens, reimagined in fibre from a native hibiscus tree from the artist’s property. Delicate, tactile and deeply connected to place, the garment brings together botanical experimentation, traditional fibre techniques and the stories held within the Grossmann House collection.

No pre-booking required.
