National Trusts of Australia – Education Program
Education is the core element which underpins one of the most fundamental roles for all National Trusts.
In conserving and interpreting our nation’s heritage, it is essential to provide leadership in the recognition and importance of the value of the richness of Australia’s heritage (natural, Aboriginal and historic) at all levels and across all age ranges.
The Australian Curriculum has provided the National Trusts an opportunity to formalise its education schools programs through history and other learning areas (ie: geography, arts, English, maths, science etc.).
Through a National Trusts Partnership Program grant provided by the Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities, an initial platform of National Trusts schools programs across Australia, linked to the Australian Curriculum, have been implemented for the benefit of teachers in schools wishing to avail themselves of these programs.
Further to the enhancement and continued development of schools programs, the National Trusts are currently also working on the development of online and public education programs.
The aim of our schools, online and public education programs will be to inspire the next generation to recognise the value of our heritage.
