Two new and interesting places to visit in the Southern Highlands this autumn!
Tuesday 26 March 2026
In the morning, we will visit the fascinating Mittagong Mushroom Tunnels, where disused railway tunnels now provide the perfect environment for cultivating gourmet mushrooms! An informative guided tour will tell us how mushrooms are grown and harvested, and about the tunnels’ wartime and railway history.
We will enjoy lunch at Sutton Forest Inn and travel in comfort with Potter Travel on this tour.
In the afternoon, there will be a rare opportunity to visit the historic Golden Vale Homestead, a grand sandstone home surrounded by English-style gardens, pictured here. We will have a guided tour of the house and time to enjoy the beautiful estate gardens. Golden Vale is a National Trust property which is only open for tours.
