Gamble Cottage is open to visitors who have an interested in the history of Coromandel Valley and neighbouring areas that were once part of this locality.

There are lots of historic artefacts, furniture and photographs on display and volunteers are on hand to shed light on the history of the cottage and to share the National Trust’s research into the district’s:

  • Pioneer families (ask about the Family Name List),
  • Land division and acquisition,
  • The area’s oldest buildings.

Gamble Cottage Garden is exquisite and features many old and now uncommon plant species. Maintained by a dedicated Friends group, it is a delight to explore, has plenty of space for children to run around. Many visitors enjoy afternoon tea sitting out amongst the plants and shrubs, or under a marquee.
