Travelling the Old Weetangera Road FULLY BOOKED

Come and explore a little of Canberra’s bush remnant heritage along the Old Weetangera Road.

Discover some of the stories of this ancient track that was used for thousands of years before it became the main road for the rural community.

We will begin with the modern landscape and move on to explore the remnants of 19th century road construction, and the notorious Flea Bog Flat that is now part of a forgotten bush block in Belconnen.

Bring your walking boots as our route includes some bush tracks as well as formed bike paths over mainly flat terrain.

While this walk is mainly in Bruce, we will start in Aranda and cross Belconnen Way via the footbridge and return at traffic lights at Haydon Drive as there is limited parking in Bruce.

Meet: at the Aranda District Playing Fields, Banaga Place, Aranda.

Walk Leader: Lanthe Daly and friends of Flea Bog Flat

Note: For the comfort and safety of other walkers, we do not allow dogs on our walks.
