Mysterious Air Crash of 1927 Heritage Walk

The Heritage Walk on Sunday 26 June is a repeat of the March Heritage Walk ‘Mysterious Air Crash of 1927’. This is a fascinating tour exploring a little-known tragedy which happened at the opening of Parliament House. The walk will visit a newly discovered crash site, and raise a number of questions about the cause of the crash and the investigation into it. Our guides, Sue O’Leary and Tony Maple, have researched the story of Flying Officer Francis Ewen who died in the crash. The walk starts at the National Library in Parkes where there is free parking on Sundays. At the conclusion of the walk in the Parliamentary Triangle, you may wish to join Sue and Tony and drive to Reid to visit Ewen’s grave at St John’s.
