THIS EVENT IS FULL
To celebrate the new Heritage Tours brochures, we are repeating this Walk which was previously run in February 2023.
On this relatively short, but very varied, walk, we will learn about Walter and Marian Griffin’s vision for Canberra, early settlement in the area, railways which came (and went), dairy farms that existed until the 1960s, a community which built its own hall, and the wetlands created when the Lake was flooded. What about the future? What will the proposed East Lake area be like, and will we lose some of our heritage? Your guides will be Mark Butz and Mary Johnston.
Meet at the Canberra Historical Railway Museum sign at the end of Cunningham St, Kingston (plenty of parking available)
