Sunday 30 August at 9.30am
Join us on Sunday 30 August at 9.30am for a Sherwood Heritage Walk
Bookings to trybooking.com/DMQNP
The site of the former Sherwood Homestead is on the ACT Heritage Register and is quite isolated – consider raising a family at the foot of the Brindabellas at Sherwood 160 years ago! Nothing remains of Henry and Eliza Phillips’ slab hut nor dairy farm but for the exotic plantings of oaks and bulbs.
You will see the glorious spring flowering bulbs and discover why it is called Sherwood. Blue Range has its own interesting story of Italian internees during World War II so for those that wish, we will drive the 2kms on dirt road to Blue Range Hut, where there are toilets and picnic area, after our walk to Sherwood.
This walk will be led by Linda Roberts. Detailed directions will be provided in the reminder before the walk. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed to attend.
