It’s cold outside, but the new season’s citrus is rapidly ripening up in the Riverland and our own backyards. It’s time to get into the kitchen and try your hand at making marmalade and entering the Australian Marmalade Competition!
The 2018 competition kicks off on Sunday 29 July at Beaumont House with a Citrus Festival. If you have trouble sourcing your own fruit, especially Seville oranges, come along to Beaumont House between 11am and 4pm, as we are giving away freshly picked citrus for just a gold coin donation. While you are here you can pick up an entry form, taste some winning marmalade, purchase a jar and attend some expert talks on making marmalade and growing citrus.
