The annual National Trust Heritage Festival was initiated in Victoria in 1980 to raise widespread community understanding of the value of heritage and the contribution it makes to the present. In 2016 National Trust Heritage Festival coordinators are expecting 15,000 events to be registered nationwide.

In 2016 the National Trust Heritage Festival theme is Discovery and Rediscoveries.

Discovery can encompass the experience of discovering something for the first time or rediscovering something that has been lost, forgotten or concealed.

This year we invite you to dig up the past and re-explore your region. What findings will you unearth? Join the National Trust in this investigation. We want to promote your unique heritage through your local events. We want to learn something new about your past.
