The National Trust of South Australia (NTSA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Nicolette Di Lernia as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Ms Di Lernia brings more than 25 years of experience in architecture, cultural heritage, and organisational leadership. A registered architect, she has spent the past decade as the South Australian Executive Director of the Australian Institute of Architects, where she led strategic planning, advocacy, education, and community engagement programs.
Her career includes significant work in the cultural, education, and community sectors, with project experience ranging from the redevelopment of civic and educational facilities to heritage and conservation initiatives. She has also been a strong advocate for sustainable design, heritage protection, and the preservation of South Australia’s built and natural environments.
“I am passionate about the role that heritage plays in our communities—both as a source of identity and as a driver for innovation and sustainability,” Di Lernia said. “I look forward to working with the Council, members, staff, and volunteers to strengthen the Trust’s important work in protecting and activating our heritage places and natural reserves.”
President of the National Trust of South Australia, Millie Nicholls, welcomed the appointment:
“We are thrilled to welcome Nicolette to the National Trust. She brings not only a wealth of professional expertise but also a deep passion for heritage and community. Her leadership, vision, and collaborative approach will be invaluable as we continue to deliver on our strategic plan and safeguard South Australia’s unique cultural and natural heritage for future generations.”
Nicolette will commence her role in late September 2025.
