We are thankful for the talent and dedication volunteers contribute to our conservation work. And we’re inspired by the passion they bring to keeping our heritage accessible. You can contribute by becoming a volunteer today.

Whatever your interests, there is sure to be something you can do to help us with the work of protecting, preserving and promoting South Australia’s heritage. Volunteering with the National Trust is a wonderful way to make a difference by protecting our State’s heritage for future generations. You will also meet great people and learn more about the place we all call home. Our volunteers work at locations across the state from historic buildings, nature reserves and museums to doing research and administration tasks within the office. If you choose to volunteer with us we will look for opportunities that match your skills, experience and interest. We are also keen to help people learn new skills through their volunteer work.

There are numerous activities depending on your abilities and interests

Assist with membership drives, computer data entry, typing and other office tasks

Assist with gardening maintenance in some of South Australia’s most prestigious gardens.

Especially suited to people with excellent communication skills, guides conduct tours of our historic sites and provide interesting and accurate accounts of the social, architectural and historical aspects of the property.

Utilise your specialist skills and join our advocacy team to help save valuable heritage items by assisting with Conservation Management Plans or by helping out with library and reference materials cataloguing and storage management.

Utilise your specialist building skills in Carpentry, Painting, Electrical, Plumbing or Fitting and help save valuable heritage properties from falling into disrepair.
