In 2026, we’re excited to invite volunteers to our regular working bees focused on technical conservation and collections care. These sessions are a fantastic way to get hands-on with history and help preserve our treasured sites.
When & Where:
Wednesdays, first week of each month: Collingrove Homestead, Angaston
Thursdays, second week of each month: Beaumont House, Burnside or Ayers House, North Terrace
We’re looking for volunteers who don’t mind getting stuck into the “behind-the-scenes” work of history—vacuuming under tables, dusting hidden corners, and carefully brushing artifacts with pony hair brushes. It’s meticulous, sometimes physical work, but deeply rewarding and a chance to connect with our collections in a very hands-on way.
Come join us, roll up your sleeves, and help keep history alive!
There may be opportunities to conduct volunteer work on different days, for the right applicant after training on these days.
