Vintage Film Night

A night of real films shown on reel projectors - vintage films which include footage from the post WWII era. Different films screen each night. Don't forget to bring your own popcorn! Parking behind the hall - enter from George St West.

Remember going to the “flicks” on a Friday night?  The Canning Town Hall was extended in 1926 as the local picture theatre and continued to have pictures shown there into the 1960s. Come along and relive the experience. Newsreel, cartoon, and period advertisements along with retro footage. And, of course, the National Anthem – God Save The King – will be screened!!  Films will be shown using actual film and projected using heritage 16mm film projectors from the balcony.
There will be different films screened each night. Bringing your own popcorn and Jaffas is optional.
