Talk and Walk: The magnificent Dandenong Park and Heritage Hill Gardens

A pleasant afternoon walk from Heritage Hill to Dandenong Park and return. Council Parks and Garden staff will share their knowledge of the significant trees. We then return to Heritage Hill to marvel at the 140-year-old Moreton Bay Fig trees and gardens followed by a delicious afternoon tea.

Join our walk to learn the story of the trees in Dandenong Park. Officially proclaimed a park in 1872, from the late 1870s it was a shady retreat to enjoy sport, music, and recreation.

The walk will be approximately 1 hour duration, at a steady pace with time to ask questions and enjoy the park. On returning to Heritage Hill the amazing 140 year old National Trust Heritage Tree listed Moreton Bay Fig trees and Kauri tree provide the foundation for the wonderful gardens surrounding Laurel Lodge and Benga.

The Council Garden staff will explain their ongoing maintenance and care of these gardens to ensure they maintain their historic integrity and charm. Following the garden stroll a delicious afternoon tea is provided. Please note that there is an incline on this walk.

Walk starts and concludes at Heritage Hill Museum and Historic Gardens.
