Stories in Glass: Heritage Stained Glass at Christ Church St Kilda

Enjoy a guided tour of the exceptional collection of stained glass at Christ Church St Kilda, revealing the stories of the windows, those who gave them and those who made them.

Christ Church St Kilda has one of the best collections of stained glass in Victoria, with every window of the church filled with art ranging in date from the 1870s to the 1930s. Unlike several major Melbourne churches (such as St Paul’s Cathedral) the windows are entirely local in design and execution.

Historian Dr Craig D’Alton, who is also vicar of Christ Church, will introduce some of the hidden stories behind the windows, including those in whose memory they were given, those who gave them, and those who made them. Each tour will last 50 minutes.
