Nobelius Heritage Park Walking Tour

Traverse centuries of horticultural history inside the heritage-listed Nobelius Heritage Park on this special guided walking tour.

Join us for a one-hour guided walking tour of the lush Nobelius Heritage Park, presented by the Emerald Museum. We’ll take you on a deep dive into the history of the former Gembrook Nurseries, commonly known as the C. A Nobelius & Sons Nursery after its proprietor, Carl Axel Nobelius. Discover how Nobelius’ innovation and entrepreneurship developed the nursery into the largest fruit and ornamental tree exporter in the southern hemisphere right here in Emerald, covering 280 acres with over one million trees by 1905. Many of the original trees planted by Nobelius still stand today, which will also be highlighted on the walk. At present, the Nobelius Heritage Park exists as a 12-acre remnant of the original nursery, and is registered on the Victorian Heritage Database as a site of State significance.
