Benalla Masonic Lodge – Open Day
Freemasonry is a world wide organisation and Marangan Lodge has been part of the history of Benalla since 1871. The lodge building was built in 1904 and the main temple constructed in 1932. An ornate art deco ceiling in the main centre is a highlight of the building.
The building has several architectural features along with the mysteries surrounding the works of Freemasonry. Visitors will be able to wander through the building, guided by members who will explain some of the history and workings of the lodge.
The names of many local members are listed on the honour boards and original minute books will be available to view.
