Making connections in Double Bay – a Local History walking tour

Uncover the hidden gems of Double Bay's heritage on this 2-hour walking tour, with our dedicated library staff as your guides. Discover historic stories, images and information that illustrate local themes and connect us to the past.

A guided walking tour through the streets of Double Bay, exploring how the suburb’s history and heritage can connect us to the people and places of its past. The tour will be led by members of the Library staff, who will share historic images and background information to illustrate how topography and the harbour connect people through time.

The tour will be enhanced by a Tour Guide’s audio system (hearing loop compatible). Gradients are moderate.

The tour will run from 10.30am - 12.30pm.
Please arrive at the Double Library by 10.15am at our assembly point at the top of the escalators at the Library’s entrance. (Access to the entry point via a
lift is also available.)

Please note: Should extreme weather conditions cause a cancellation on 1 May, the tour will be held on Wednesday 8 May, 10.30am - 12.30pm.

There will be no toilets available during the course of the 2 hour walking tour. Toilets are available at the Double Bay Library at beginning and end of the route.

Parking near the Double Bay Library is subject to time limits and restrictions. The Library is on a number of bus routes (Routes 324 and 325 from the City) and in walking distance of Edgecliff Train Station.
