Historic Buildings of Knox

Your Library invites you to attend a range of inspiring talks and this is one no different. Since it's settlement, Knox residents have built some incredible buildings. Join us to find out more about some of these historical buildings, their history and the stories.

Let’s travel back in time… we will look at the history of some of the Knox Council area’s oldest buildings. While Miller’s Homestead and Stamford Park are well known, we will also look at some lesser known buildings that are still standing today. And not just houses, but hotels, schools, churches and much more. We will learn when and why they were built, how they were used and who owned them. We will also see how they have changed over time, inspired ideas along with the fights to save them in the face of progress.

The house will be open to wander around after the talk.

Attendees may wish to bring a picnic lunch to have on the verandah or in the gardens of this beautiful historic building after the talk. Don’t forget the picnic blanket.
