PAST EVENT

Discover your Family Heritage

Have you ever wondered where your family came from? Find out how to start your family history research today in our well-resourced Centre. We will give you a tour of our Resource Centre and a hands on session where you will discover something about your family heritage.

On the day you will take a tour and listen to a presentation outlining the amazing array of resources in the world of genealogy using real examples of research. You will then have a one on one session with an experienced researcher.

You should bring as much information as you have on your own family so that you can fully benefit from the session. You may discover that you have a convict ancestor, or your ancestor was on the wrong side of the law. Perhaps you are descended from royalty!

Our Resource Centre is well resourced with a huge range of materials from Australia and beyond-over 13,600 books, microfilm and fiche, maps and Family History publications. We also have computer access to an array of online subscriptions including Ancestry, Find Your Past and The Genealogist. These sites do not have all the answers you will seek, but we can help you distinguish fact from fiction and find the story, not just the person.
