Cockman House: building craft

Visit Wanneroo’s oldest standing house and learn about the lives of an early settler family. Enjoy building crafts and activities, follow the audio trail of James Cockman and his construction of the house, or bring a picnic and enjoy a lazy afternoon in the shady grounds. Fun for all ages!

Built in 1860, Cockman House is Wanneroo’s oldest standing house. This heritage gem is a wonderful example of early colonial home construction, and contains some remarkable objects, photos and stories illustrating the lives of generations of Cockman and Backshall families who lived in the house for over 120 years.
