Chestnut Forage & Chestnut Pappardelle Lunch

Chestnuts you are delicious! We will forage & prize open burs by stomping our feet like horses. Then score, bake, & create a rich botanical chestnut sauce. Together we will make pappardelle (fresh pasta) & slurp on this simple but delicious lunch, with tiramisu, folk songs & peasant side dishes.

Join me at our beautiful property ORTO! Celebrate autumn like a Swiss Italian by enjoying the cultural tradition of a food sagra! Sagra is the word used in Italy to denote an event that celebrates seasonal produce, particularly produce that is only available for a very brief period of time, such as chestnuts! Chestnuts are sweet and creamy and incredibly fun to harvest. I will take you to a secret location where chestnut trees are bountiful and the garden floor a sea of chestnuts. With baskets in hand we will harvest kilos worth then return to ORTO to prepare a feast together. And I love singing songs from my culture, hence as you dine I will sing and share the lyrical translation of songs by my favourite singer Lou Colombo ! Join me! Arrivederci cari amici.
