Book Launch – Hamilton’s History Photographs 1870s, Stories from the 1840s to 1850s.

After completion of the Pub Crawl walk, at 11.30 a.m. the Centre will launch their latest publication, ‘Hamilton History Photographs from the 1870’s Stories from the 1840’s to 1850s’.

The photographs of Hamilton buildings, streetscapes and landscapes are accompanied by stories about the subject or someone associated with it. This information is sourced from memoirs (some never before published), obituaries and contemporary newspaper articles. It gives an insight into Hamilton’s history that the camera could not capture. The book also contains maps of photograph locations and a comprehensive index.
