Beyond the Scones – Celebrating the Centenary of CWA
Discover the important role the CWA has played in building and strengthening local communities for 100 years in this remarkable display at the Wanneroo Regional Museum.
To celebrate the Centenary of the Country Women’s Association (CWA), Wanneroo Regional Museum has partnered with the CWA Wanneroo branch to present fascinating photography and memorabilia that celebrates their rich history.
Artefacts on display include wool boots and vests sent overseas for the war effort, while residents may want to trawl old membership lists to check for your mother, aunty or grandmother’s name.
While their scones are top notch, the CWA also has a long history of building and strengthening communities through advocacy, education, service and belonging – from starting the Land Girls to keep providing food to the war effort to advocating for the importance of seatbelts in cars.
