A Walk Through Time

Join the tour guide and walk through Swan Hill's business district to hear stories of the past - the businesses, the buildings and the people.

The Swan Hill Genealogical & Historical Society will lead you on a guided tour through the Campbell Street business district. Hear stories of past businesses that have occupied this modern business streetscape, the people that have been involved in building Swan Hill into a regional city and the buildings that are now but a memory. The story of pre-Federation when customs tax was paid between colonies and paddle-steamers plied the waters of the mighty Murray River, visiting the bustling port of Swan Hill. Some of the businesses are still in the same family and rapidly approaching 100 years of service in the community.

This will be an easy walk of about one hour and finish with a light supper.
