Burra | Successful Working Bee

Burra's Redruth Gaol has many rooms with windows and fireplaces that visitors come to see besides the cells. The Burra Burra Branch of the National Trust rely on the dedication of our volunteers to help maintain the building.

It was wonderful to see so many volunteers our our major working bee held on Sunday 15th October. A successful day, the work consisted of sweeping floors, washing alls and windows as well as removing some stored “might-come-in-handy-one-day” items.

Twelve people attended, including three much younger, agile non-members [under 80]. A BBQ with meat donated by our Mayor Bill Gebhardt was enjoyed afterwards under the trees outside the wals.
