Heritage and Tourism: A wealth of opportunities

The National Trust has been advocating the opportunities and benefits of heritage as a tourism asset.

We presented a one day masterclass with the Local Government Association of South Australia in 2014, presented at the South Australian Tourism Conference in 2015 and held a regional workshop on heritage and tourism at Clare in February 2015.

In April 2016 representatives of the National Trust presented at a workshop convened by the Heritage Council to discuss the principles and possibilities of heritage tourism in South Australia. The workshop was opened by the minister for Sustainability, Environment and Conservation, Hon. Ian Hunter. The Lord Mayor of the City of Adelaide, and representatives from the South Australian Tourism Commission and local and state government agencies.
