Our tailored guided tour shares the incredible stories of Home Hill with students.
Home Hill, the family home of Joseph Lyons, Dame Enid Lyons and their 12 children, is Devonport’s only ‘house museum’. It presents a learning environment for all ages and has direct links to the National History Curriculum.
Joseph Lyons remains the only Tasmanian to become Prime Minister of Australia and Dame Enid was the first woman elected to Australia’s Federal Parliament.
Built in 1916, their home and its contents reflect the many changes in family life, communication, politics and world events throughout the twentieth century.
Curriculum linked lesson plans, with pre and post visit modules and teaching resources, are available on request for Years 1/2 and 5/6.
