Unearthing Cultural Diversity in Willoughby’s History

Come and unearth the cultural diversity of the people of Willoughby in our latest temporary exhibition supported by a Community Grant from Willoughby City Council.

This exhibition is a snapshot of the people of Willoughby today. Locals from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds were interviewed as to how and why they came to Willoughby, what they liked about living here, their community involvement and their hopes for the future. Participants include people of first nations and migrant backgrounds, with the Willoughby district having a greater than average migrant population with approx. 50% of people having been born overseas and over 40% speaking a language other than English at home. This exhibition unearths the personal stories and journeys of 19 individuals and their contributions as members of the local community.
