Tenterfield Autumn Festival Inc.
The Tenterfield Autumn Festival is held over the 4-day Easter Long Weekend. Tenterfield's autumn months are a known time of the year when our town looks its best. By coinciding this event with the Easter long weekend each year, the festival encourages visitation right around our Shire.
The Tenterfield Autumn Festival aims to showcase local produce & landscapes – supporting our many local heritage precincts.
We work with local organisations & businesses to bring visitors to beautiful town over the Easter long weekend which supports the many regional owner operated businesses, bringing incremental revenue to the businesses in the Tenterfield Shire which assists in ensuring awareness & economic viability to all who live in our Shire.
The event was originally designed to showcase our amazing town & connect people after many years of disaster in our Shire.
The Tenterfield Autumn Festival continues to showcase an emerging ‘modern country’ that highlights Tenterfield Shires offerings in a rural setting also espousing a level of quality around food, wine and events that appeals to all ages and budgets for people who want enjoy boutique events & enjoy exploring. The festival attracts new people to the area to bolster our tourism.

16th of April – Wednesday
The Artists Collective Art Exhibition & Competition opening 5:30pm
17th of April – Thursday
- The Tenterfield Autumn Festival launches in the Tenterfield historic School of Arts Building. There will be a glamorous fashion parade presented by the team from Sherelles Fashions, ticket price for this event includes a glass of wine on arrival, light hors d’oeuvres, and entertainment by Nick Wolverson.
- The Historic Henry Parkes Museum will be available for tours all weekend.
18th of April – Good Friday
- Some of the New England’s best gardens, Behind the Hedge & the Ivy Leaf Chapel, will be open throughout the weekend for visitors to enjoy, with light refreshments & souvenirs available for sale. View their website & Facebook pages for schedules & entry prices.
- The CBD Autumn Window & Store Display Competition supported by the Tenterfield Chamber of Tourism Industry & Business, and the Hay Bale Trail around town for visitors & locals to enjoy, will showcase our local’s creativity and will be on display throughout autumn.
- The Tenterfield Bowling & Golf Clubs also have events on over the Easter Weekend, get in early and book your games, or pop in for a great meal & entertainment.
- Bad Manners will host a Woodfired Pizza & Pinot night.
19th of April – Easter Saturday
- Saturday’s program includes The Make It, Bake It or Grow It Markets at Jubilee Park, which attracts an interesting array of stall holders and food vendors from all over Northern NSW & Southern Qld. The Tenterfield Jubilee Parkrun will start at 8am as usual, visitors welcome.
- The Vintage Veteran & Classic Car Display & Competition will be at Petherick Park with Clubs being invited from the Northern Tablelands and Southern Downs.
- The Mingoola Dumaresq Gladiators Tug of War team will be back to demonstrate & challenge visitors & locals.
- Amazing local musicians will perform throughout the day with plenty of kid’s entertainment as well.
Cobb & Co coach rides are also back by popular demand from Shirley Park over the course of the weekend. – Bookings Essential - The Angry Bull Trail team will be running youth mountain bike events across the road from the markets in the Youth Precinct, bring your bikes along – there’s plenty of great prizes to be won & lots of fun to be had by all.
- Ruben & Flax homewares are hosting an in-store book launch by author Gillian Mills in the afternoon, and historic Stannum House will be open for tours from Saturday to Monday. View this beautiful mansion and the restoration works in progress upstairs.
- Come along to the family friendly concert at the Tenterfield Memorial Hall on Saturday evening, featuring entertainers Katie Brooke & Thor Phillips & band and another artist TBA, with bar & food vans available for refreshments – ticketed event.
- Eat Street will also be held at Bad Manners on Saturday night, where there will be street food, kid’s entertainment, bar & firepits.
20th of April – Easter Sunday
- On Sunday Morning Jubilee Park will be buzzing for the LIONS Tenterfield Easter Egg Hunt, proudly supported by Tenterfield Coles & Thomas Rural. The morning kicks off from 9am, with the Year 12 students from Tenterfield High School working with the Lions Club to make sure that the kids are treated to a great morning of entertainment. There’s Easter egg hunts, music, games, face painting, photos with the Easter bunny and everything to make for a great Easter Sunday morning – with a hearty Lions breakfast.
- Cobb & Co coach rides are also back by popular demand from Shirley Park – Bookings Essential
- The Piano Mill at Willsons Downfall near Liston north of Tenterfield will provide great entertainment and fine music on Sunday afternoon, resonating through the copper building and the surrounding forest creating an almost spiritual experience. – Bookings Essential
- Don’t forget to pop in to the Aloomba Lavender Farm and try their scrumptious lavender scones and ice cream while you’re in the area.
- The Urbenville Hotel will host the Sunday session, great food & entertainment, fun for the whole family.
21st of April – Easter Monday
The Ivy Leaf Chapel will host a floral art workshop by Loganlea Florist. Bookings Essential. Ticket price includes all requirements for workshop & light refreshments
