Steampunk@Altitude’25
For one weekend during the Heritage Festival the town of Nimmitabel comes alive with Victoriana era buildings and streets featuring Steampunk fashions, inventions and eccentric personalities. At 1,100 metres on the Great Dividing Range this is Steampunk@Altitude a free family friendly event!
All visitors are encouraged to dress up in their best Steampunk costume and show off their unique style, there are fantastic markets, live bands, and fun games for all to enjoy. So get your Jules Verne alter ego to meet with Harry Potter or Dr Who and the Time Machine – because anything is possible with ingenuity and imagination. From gaslight to electricity, the period is always 1860-1920 when the world was going the age of experimentation, scientific breakthroughs and revolutions in technology. This year the Saturday night Steampunk Ball will also feature the inaugural Steampunk Awards with a huge array of talent beckoning. As featured on ABC TV “Backroads” this is a very unique weekend festival indeed!
