History unearthed at “Linnwood” Guildford 1891

Visit this hidden gem in Sydney's south west on Sunday April 27th. "Linnwood" is a gentleman's country retreat built in 1891 and sits on 5 hectares at Guildford. As well as viewing new displays at the property, visitors can enjoy a delicious Devonshire tea. Ample free onsite parking

The Friends of Linnwood has unearthed items from the Collection especially for the Australian Heritage Festival event, including:
* Bricks, tiles and other historic clay products from local manufacturers in Holroyd Council and Prospect & Sherwood Council areas
* Vintage farming tools from bygone days
* Decorative items with designs featuring flora and fauna

Also on display are:
* “The Guildford Road Project” featuring photographs from the early days of Guildford and how the area has changed
* History and scale model of the former Goodyear factory at Granville
* Powerpoint presentation “The History of Linnwood” together with photographs telling it’s story

And introducing “The Gardens of Linnwood” publication by Friends of Linnwood and Holroyd Local History Research

Devonshire Tea is included, bookings are essential for catering purposes.

Free off street parking is available onsite. Drive up the Private Road through the large gates on Byron Road (cross street is Mera Street) and park at the rear. House is accessible via short ramp on front verandah or wheelchair access is via the rear door (up the northern side of the building)
