A rare glimpse into Tasmania’s retail heritage.
This charming Launceston shop is one of the last surviving retail experiences of the early 1900’s.
It was operated by three generations of the Shott family who made and repaired umbrellas, and in later years were renowned for their hand -crafted souvenirs made on the premises from native timbers.
Today the shop sells a large range of umbrellas, as well as a variety of National Trust and Tasmanian-made products.
Rare old umbrellas and early souvenirs are also on display in original blackwood display cases.
