The Moonta Mines precinct is one of South Australia’s premier heritage attractions. The sites are currently operating on limited opening hours while the National Trust of South Australia undertakes important governance, safety and operational improvements.

These actions follow a period of review and are necessary to ensure the sites are managed in a safe, compliant and sustainable way. Our priority is to provide a secure and welcoming environment for visitors, staff and volunteers, and to protect the significant heritage assets in our care.

We are working towards progressively increasing access as these improvements are implemented, and as we establish a stable and sustainable operating model for the future.

We appreciate the community’s understanding and continued support during this time. Visitors are encouraged to check each location for the latest opening hours before planning their visit.
