History

This four roomed stone cottage was built by William Wilson when he returned from the gold fields. He used Mount Gambier stone for the front wall and local soft stone that was dug out like clay and left to dry in the sun for the other walls. It still has its pressed steel roof. The original 1856 slab and bark roof home was then used as a kitchen.
