Venue Hire - Tomago House

This gracious mansion retains the style and elegance of the Victorian era and is ideal for weddings, due to the location of a pretty chapel on site. The drawing room is also perfect for a large formal dinner or dance. Set across 6 acres of tree-studded land the house has truly stood the test of time, the house and garden are a beautiful backdrop for an Event. Marquees may be set up outside giving you more space for a larger party.

Built in the early 1840's, the Hunter Valley property, Tomago House was conceived as the centrepiece of an extensive agricultural estate and the country residence of one of the colony's leading politico-legal figures the Windeyers. This gracious sandstone villa is noted for it's fine verandahs and interiors which reflect the lives and times of a family of status. It's family chapel and remnants of the nineteenth century pleasure gardens add to the timeless, tranquil and serenely gracious estate.

Tomago House is available for a limited number of weddings each year.

Viewings are by appointment.

The grounds, attic, cellars and chapel open to the public every Sunday from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

Tomago House is a self-catering venue with an approved warming kitchen and local caterers can be suggested. The kitchen is equipped with cutlery, crockery, glassware, dinning tables and chair, small table, outdoor chairs, four refrigerators and a bar.


Tomago House is open Sunday from 10.30am – 3.30pm. To arrange an inspection or enquiry about a wedding or function please call 4964 8123. To confirm a booking Tomago House requires a non-refundable deposit of $300 for wedding, $100 for the chapel, $100 for all other functions and $50 for tours. Final payment is required two weeks before the wedding or event. A bond of $750 is payable for wedding and $200 for other functions.

When accepting bookings for Tomago House the National Trust reserves the right to assess the suitability of the proposed function to the buildings and its delicate environment. As a property of the National Trust of Australia (NSW) this venue is of particular significance to the people of NSW.
